Local SEO for Bray Park and Moreton Bay Businesses: What Actually Moves the Needle

Back to Blog

If you serve customers around Bray Park, the wider Moreton Bay Region or Greater Brisbane, most of your new customers start with a search that includes a place, or one Google assumes is local. 'Electrician Strathpine', 'physio near me', 'cafe Petrie'. Local SEO is the work of being a credible answer to those searches.

1. Start with your Google Business Profile

The profile drives your appearance in the Map Pack and local results. First, check you're eligible: Google's guidelines say a profile is for businesses that have a physical location customers can visit, or that travel to customers. If you're a service-area business working from home, the guidelines say to hide your address and define the areas you serve instead.

  • Claim and verify the profile, and keep the business name as it appears in the real world, without added keywords or taglines
  • Choose an accurate primary category and list your real services
  • Keep hours, contact details and service areas current
  • Use real photos of your work, your premises or your team

2. Reviews are a system, not a campaign

Build a simple habit of asking at the moment a customer is happy, and reply to every review, good or bad, like a person. Don't offer incentives for reviews or write your own: that breaks platform rules and customers can tell.

3. Make your details consistent

Your business name, phone number and area should match on your website, Google, Facebook and any directories. Inconsistency doesn't just confuse search engines. It makes you harder for any system, human or AI, to describe accurately.

4. Build a website that explains where and what

Each main service deserves its own page with real detail. Explain where you work in words a customer would use, and show real projects. Avoid the temptation to create dozens of near-identical suburb pages. They add URLs without adding value and can look like spam. A separate location page makes sense when a place has a real premises, a distinct team, or genuinely different information.

5. Measure what happens

Search Console and your profile insights show the queries and actions (calls, direction requests, website clicks) that local search produces. Track calls and form submissions as conversions so you know what's working. See analytics and conversion tracking.

A note on timing

Corrections to profiles and listings can help within weeks. Reviews, content and reputation compound over months. Anyone promising a fixed ranking by a fixed date is guessing.
