Built With AI? What You Still Need Before Launching
Back to Blog
AI tools can now produce a working website, landing page, store or prototype astonishingly quickly. That's good news, and we'd never tell you to abandon it. But generating something is one stage of a longer journey.
What tends to be missing
- Domain and hosting: a preview link isn't a business address
- Deployment: a repeatable way to publish changes without breaking things
- Security: secrets kept out of code, dependencies reviewed, inputs handled safely, access controlled
- Authentication and data: how people log in, where their data is stored, who can see it
- Payments and email: set up, tested and delivering
- Analytics and SEO: tracking, metadata, crawlability, structure
- Performance and accessibility: real-world speed and usability
- Backups, monitoring and maintenance: someone responsible for keeping it running
- Growth: search visibility, conversion, marketing and customer acquisition
Don't throw it away
Most of what AI produces is a legitimate starting point. Often it needs a proper review, targeted fixes and a real launch, not a rewrite. The honest answer depends on the project, and we'll say so.
A sensible order
- Review what you've built and what it depends on
- Fix the security and stability gaps
- Set up domain, hosting, deployment, email and tracking
- Test the whole journey on real devices
- Launch, then work on being found and converting
AI can help you build. We help you make what you build actually work. See AI-built websites: make it production-ready.
