Do You Need a New Website or Just Better Marketing?

Back to Blog

When enquiries dry up, the reflex is to blame the website and redesign it. Sometimes that's right. More often the site is fine, and what's missing is traffic, or the site is receiving traffic it can't convert. Those are different problems with different fixes.

Three quick tests

  1. Is anyone visiting? Check analytics or Search Console. Very few visitors means a visibility problem, not a site problem.
  2. Are visitors doing anything? Plenty of visits and almost no enquiries points to conversion: message, trust, forms, speed or mobile experience.
  3. Is the site itself broken? Slow, erroring, insecure or unusable on a phone? That's a fix or improve job, or occasionally a rebuild.
