Why Your Website Isn't Generating Leads
Back to Blog
Having a website doesn't automatically create demand. When a live site produces no enquiries, the cause can be anywhere along the journey from someone first hearing about you to them getting in touch. The trick is finding which link is weak before spending on the wrong fix.
Follow the journey
| Stage | What can go wrong | Signs |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Poor search visibility, weak local SEO, no AI presence | Very few visits; you don't appear for your own services |
| Positioning | Unclear who it's for or why you | Visitors leave within seconds |
| Messaging & content | Generic claims, no specifics or proof | Pages read like anyone's |
| Trust | No real examples, contact details or process | People visit, then don't enquire |
| UX & mobile | Hard to navigate or use on a phone | Mobile visitors drop off far more than desktop |
| Speed | Slow loading | High bounce, especially from ads |
| Call to action | No clear next step, or too many | Traffic but few form or call events |
| Tracking | Enquiries not recorded | You can't say where anything comes from |
| Follow-up | Enquiries arrive and aren't answered quickly | Leads exist but don't become customers |
What we do first
We don't immediately sell you another website. We work out where the problem actually is: analytics, search data, the site itself, and the enquiries you do receive. Then we fix the weakest link. See conversion optimisation for the method, and the conversion calculator for what a small improvement could be worth.

Tell us what's not working.
You don't have to know what you need. Describe the problem and we'll help figure out what comes next.
