I Built a Website. Why Am I Getting No Customers?

Back to Blog

It's one of the most common and most demoralising situations: you paid for a website (or built one yourself), it looks fine, and nothing happens. The site isn't necessarily bad. A website is a place for customers to land. It doesn't send them.

Work backwards from the customer

  1. Can they find you? Search your business name, then the service plus your area. If you don't appear, the problem is visibility, not design. See what SEO actually does after launch.
  2. Does your listing back you up? Local customers check your Google Business Profile before your website. An incomplete or unverified one loses trust and traffic. See local SEO for Moreton Bay.
  3. Do they know you exist? With no search visibility, you need another route: referrals, social, ads. Traffic has to come from somewhere.
  4. Do they understand what you do in five seconds? If not, the message needs work.
  5. Is it easy to enquire? A clear next step, working forms and a phone number that's tappable on mobile.
  6. Do you know what's happening? Without tracking, you can't tell 'nobody visits' from 'they visit and leave'.

Don't buy another website yet

Every one of those is cheaper to fix than a rebuild. The point of a diagnosis is to find which link is broken. The digital gap audit walks through them in about two minutes, and if you want a second pair of eyes, tell us what's not working.
